I. To + infinitive:

Ex1: I try to study well to please my parents.

                                    to infinitive

Ex2: I am saving money to buy a new book.

                                      to infinitive

– Meaning: “to + infinitive” : để làm gì.

– Usage: “to + infinitive” : dùng để chỉ mục đích

– Notes:     

       
+  Ngoài “to + infinitive” ra ta còn có thể dùng “ in order / so as + infinitive”

Ex: I try to study well to please/ in order to please/ so as to please my parents.       
+ Nếu câu ở thể phủ định thì ta thêm “not” trước “to”.

Ex: I try to study well not to please/ in order not  to please/ so as not to please my parents.

II. Wh– questions:

Ex: I often listen to music whenever I have free time.

=> When do    you   listen to musis?
